I was a touch disparaging about The Red Bike a while back. Poor bike – a creation of my own hand, and yet I dump my frustrations with its build and looks on it. It works just fine, performing admirably on the rough stuff, but it’s somewhere off my idealised vision of what a cyclokairos bike should be. A major gripe are the handlebars; the horns providing options for hand position at the price of looks. Here there are:

I decided to replace them the SimWorks x Golden Pliers Ramble Bar – clocking in at 71 cm, very on trend in the wide-bars stakes.

Still hankering for a Rivendell Appaloosa for a true Cyclokairos Rough Stuff bike, but an improvement aesthetically.
