Bagnificent

The Blue Bike now has a bag all of its own: Wizard Works’ Pelagazam.

It’s Wizard Works dedicated basket bag for the Pelago Rasket (an all-in-one rack/basket). I already have their Shazam saddle bag, so bought this one in confidence. It doesn’t disappoint, as with the Shazam, the construction is top notch. By no means a cheap option, but being made in the UK (MUK – no, you’re right, not the best acronym) you’d expect such a price tag if their staff are to make a decent wage. Being designed specifically for the Rasket (their Alakazam bag fits Wald and Manivelle baskets) the fit is perfect.

G-locks secure the bag in place. I’ve yet to take it on anything that would qualify as rough-stuff, but the bag has behaved itself thus far.

A flap, with a zippered pocket, holds down the roll top that’s used to access the bag. You also get a shoulder strap for using the bag sans bike, and two “pizza” straps for lashing down large loads.

One end of the “pizza” strap slots into a buckle underneath the zippered flap, the other end, a clip, attaches to the basket.

Opening the flap unleashes the bags full 61L capacity (periscope not included).

It’s a definitive inclusion in the the bags I’ll take on the world-tour-that-will-never-happen-because-stuff-has-a-habit-of-getting-in-the-way.
